MIDLAND

MIDLAND is a work of short literary fiction set in the rust belt towns of Western Pennsylvania. When Rabbi David Orange- a traveling funeral director- is hired to officiate the funeral of Ira Gutterman, he arrives to find an empty service. What follows is an elegy for the unmourned: for bitter dreams, towns left to rust, and the Jewish tradition of showing up where nobody else will.
